Learn the art of writing a compelling grant proposal

Funding goes a long way in turning ideas into compelling stories, yet for many storytellers, writing a winning grant proposal can be challenging.

In the Africa No Filter Presents: Grant Writing for Storytellers and Artists masterclass, grant makers will take you through every stage of applying for a grant. They’ll share the dos and don’ts for applying for a grant, as well as tips and tools to help you source funding, build relationships with potential funders, and design your project and budget.

It will be presented by Samantha Nengomasha, grants lead at Hivos Southern Africa, and Africa No Filter’s grants lead, Victor Mark-Onyegbu. Nengomasha leads the Hivos Resource of Open Minds (ROOM) project, which offers grants to hubs, individuals, academics, and researchers. She has worked with creatives across Africa and the Middle East.

Mark-Onyegbu has played an instrumental role in ANF’s grantmaking strategy, leading to partnerships with more than 150 storytellers across the continent and the diaspora. They will be hosted by Abimbola Ogundairo, advocacy and campaigns lead at Africa No Filter.
