Arinze Obiezue - Kenya
Arinze Obiezue is a researcher whose work across design, culture, and technology seeks to accelerate the creative development and entrepreneurial capabilities of young Africans. Through his work in the venture, he also supports other founders and startups building innovative solutions in media, gaming, climate, and education.
He’s the founder and publisher of Kenga, an independent culture publication documenting the ideas, personalities, and cultures shaping African Gen Z communities on the continent and in the diaspora. His grant will support the creation of the sixth issue of Kenga magazine. It will document the innovative ways African Gen Zs are building their financial futures through entrepreneurship and on the Internet.
“Too much talk about Africa's youth has centred around poverty at worst and latent potential at best. I'm passionate about shifting the African narrative to emphasise how the new generation of Africans and their subcultures are influencing the world and inspiring real change.”
