Fatoumata Kouyaté - France
Fatoumata Kouyaté is a Guinean visual artist and portrait painter and the author and founder of Lettres Vagabondes Fatou Mata. She works with mediums such as acrylic, dry pastel and charcoal.
We’ve partnered with her on an exhibition, to be held in Paris, on the theme of Art, Identities and Cultures. The ephemeral exhibition will present a series of portrait works by the artist. “The Africa I see, think and write about is a dynamic Africa, home to a variety of cultures and wealth and resources that are the envy of the world.
Its young people are dynamic, cultured, aware and efficient. It inspires, delights and offers new prospects for emancipation and pan-Africanism, particularly through art and culture. This multiculturalism is the place to tell its story better, to deconstruct its identity and to break the stereotypes and negative clichés that caricature it. We need to get out.”
