Maïmouna Jallow

Maïmouna is a Nairobi-based storyteller and media consultant. In 2014, she co-founded the arts and media company Positively African and in 2016 launched the Nairobi Storytelling Festival.

She is currently curating the Re-Imagined Series – adapting folktales and novels for contemporary audiences. She has led workshops and performed on stages around the world, including in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Somaliland, Egypt, Nigeria, UK, Scotland, Sweden, Singapore, Chile, and Poland.

The Re-Imagined Tale

The project will attempt to preserve the idea of oral storytelling by creating new stories that speak to children without undermining stories that already exist.
