Founded in 2015, Africa Matters Initiative is a youth-led organisation that’s empowering African youth to change their communities and Africa’s narrative through leadership, social entrepreneurship and advocacy. 

Their ANF grant will be used to build a media department that showcases their work. They also delivered workshops and webinars.  “Africa has the youngest population on the planet. We are a young continent on the verge of a new age, and we only take control of our future by shaping it now, in the present. We are terrified of a generation of young Africans who feel hopeless, growing into a future generation of Africans who feel even more so. 

We are eradicating stereotypes for our sake, so more of us understand that we each play a part in how this continent is portrayed because the continent is us and we are so much more than the world cares to see. If we see us, that is the beginning. If we see us, that is enough,” said Olivier.
