Wendy Trott is an Associate at Luminate, a philanthropic organisation that works towards enabling more accountable governance and meaningful civic participation, focused on Africa.
She does this by funding and supporting nonprofit and for-profit organizations and advocating for policies and actions that will help people participate in and shape the issues affecting their lives, and make those in power more transparent, responsive, and accountable.
Prior to joining Luminate, Wendy was a Research Analyst at the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL). She previously worked with the South Africa-based Brenthurst Foundation, the Center for International Development at the Kennedy School of Government in the US, and the Institut du Développement Durable et des Relations Internationales in Paris, working on economic research.
She has published research on urban growth in sub-Saharan Africa, evaluated the impact of mega sporting events on developing economies, and mapped climate change policies in key developing nations.
