Africa’s workforce is rapidly adapting to the digital age, with outsourcing from Global North companies fuelling the rise of remote work, freelancing, and gig-based employment. However, while these opportunities promise economic inclusion, they also come with significant challenges: low wages, job insecurity, and exploitation by international corporations. Work Reimagined, a partnership with Ford Foundation, is working with journalists, podcasters, and content creators who want to impact how Africa’s workforce is adapting to create compelling stories and produce engaging content about the future of work in Africa to spark conversation and drive change towards a for a more inclusive, fair, and sustainable future of work in Africa.
