Mohamed Okash

Mohamed Okash is an environmentalist and Director of the ICE Institute at SIMAD University, Somalia’s leading environmental think-and-do tank. He is also part of the Global Shapers Climate Expert Network. His work focuses on climate adaptation, social innovation, and sustainable development.
Through blogs and podcasts, Mohamed will spotlight Somali climate activists and changemakers.

The project
Somalia’s climate story is often told through crisis—floods, droughts, and displacement. Mohamed is shifting the narrative by documenting stories of climate resilience through vlogs, podcasts, and blogs.
