Joan Rispa Kiragu is a charismatic storyteller passionate about amplifying overlooked voices through character-driven film narratives, with a particular focus on strong female protagonists. Her directorial journey began in university with ‘Detox,’ which earned me the prestigious Kalasha Award for Best Student Director and screened globally at the Zanzibar International Film Festival and New York’s Filmette Film Festival.
